Creamy Brisket Pasta Bake

The inspiration hit when I spotted a half-empty box of penne pasta in the pantry. Pasta and brisket? It wasn’t traditional—but oh, it worked beautifully.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups leftover brisket shredded or diced
  • 3 cups cooked penne pasta
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour or cornstarch for gluten-free
  • 1 ½ cups milk or cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley for garnish

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter and whisk in flour. Cook for 1 minute.
  3. Slowly pour in milk, whisking constantly until smooth and creamy.
  4. Stir in garlic powder, salt, pepper, and cheeses until melted.
  5. Add cooked pasta and brisket, mixing gently until everything is coated in the sauce.
  6. Transfer to a greased baking dish, top with a little extra cheese, and bake for 15–20 minutes until golden.
