Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • cups whole milk
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon mustard powder or ½ teaspoon Dijon mustard

Method
 

  1. Cook the pasta: Boil salted water and cook macaroni until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Warm the dairy: In a large pan, melt butter, then add milk and cream. Heat gently.
  3. Add the cheese: Gradually add shredded cheese, stirring until smooth.
  4. Season: Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, and mustard powder. Adjust to taste.
  5. Combine: Stir in cooked pasta until well coated.
  6. Serve hot: Garnish with extra cheese or herbs. Optional: bake for a golden crust.
