World’s Best Banana Bread (No Kidding)

Ingredients
  

  • 3 overripe bananas mashed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar light or dark
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon optional
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips optional

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Preheat & Prepare Pan
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan and lightly dust with flour or line with parchment paper.
  4. Step 2: Mash Bananas
  5. In a large bowl, mash the bananas with a fork until mostly smooth.
  6. Add melted butter and mix gently.
  7. Step 3: Mix Wet Ingredients
  8. Stir in the brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla until combined.
  9. Step 4: Add Dry Ingredients
  10. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  11. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the banana mixture. Do not overmix.
  12. Step 5: Add Optional Extras
  13. Fold in walnuts or chocolate chips if using.
  14. Step 6: Bake
  15. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  16. Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  17. Step 7: Cool & Serve
  18. Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes.
  19. Remove from the pan and cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

  • Use very ripe bananas for the sweetest flavor.
  • For extra moisture, add 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt.
  • Do not overmix the batter to keep the bread soft.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
  • Can be frozen for up to 2 months; thaw overnight at room temperature.
